Hello Chamber Members,
Welcome summer! I think it’s finally arrived. By the way, this is our last meeting until September, so everyone get out and enjoy this weather!
Last year was the first annual Cudahy Downtown Sidewalk Days. We hope to make it bigger and better this year. We can use any donations to help us grow. The dates are July 12, 13, & 14th. If you are a downtown business and want to participate, see Judy Carlin at the Gift Shoppe.
Next month on Wednesday, June 12, we will have our semi- annual Business-After-Hours get-together at Papa Luigi’s on Layton. This is the lead-in to our summer break. It will start at 5:00 PM. So I hope you all mark it on your calendars.
As you know, the Chamber officers have been meeting with the officers from the Chambers of St. Francis and South Milwaukee. We met again recently and have a tentative agreement in place. We will be asking our Board of Directors to vote on the merger soon. This should benefit all of us. I’ll have more info in the next newsletter.
Groundbreaking was held recently for the new Angelic Bakery on Layton Ave. Construction is under way, and we will welcome them to speak at our next luncheon meeting in September!
Finally, Jim McGivern of Channels 10/36 will be in Cudahy next week. He will feature Cudahy on his show “Around the Corner”. He will be interviewing a number of city residents. I’ll let everyone know when the show will air.
